Glass Scorpion

The Glass Scorpion is one of the strange terrors of the Desert of Glass, and it takes its name honestly: its carapace is translucent, near-colourless, refracting the desert glare so that it seems half made of the very glass it crosses. A man may not see it until it is upon him, the size of a war-dog, claws wide and sting arched high. Its venom is among the deadliest the Reach knows, and the desert nomads navigate by the bleached, glassy husks of those the scorpions have already taken.
