Venom Beast

The Venom Beast has no better name, for no scholar has cared to study it closely and live. It is a low, fast, vicious predator of the Ashen Marsh, its hide slick with a secreted poison that sickens at a touch and kills in a wound. It does not lurk or ambush so much as charge, all teeth and dripping spines, trusting its venom to finish what its jaws begin. The marsh-folk have a saying: see the Venom Beast, and you have already seen too much of it.
