The Rogue is the shadow of the party, and the reason its members live to see daylight. Where the Fighter holds the line and the Wizard breaks it, the Rogue does the quiet work that keeps everyone breathing: picking the lock, finding the hidden door, sensing the dead-fall before it falls and stilling it. In a fight they are not built to grind, but to end things suddenly - one strike from the dark, struck where it counts, and an enemy simply stops. They wear no heavy armor, for weight is the enemy of silence, and they trust to quickness and fortune over plate. A good Rogue is worth a second sword and a torch besides.
