Kharzulan the Skybreaker is the named lord of the deep desert, a blue dragon of immense age and prouder than the harsh sky it claims as its own. Its lightning is the stuff of legend among the desert nomads - a breath that splits the air with a crack like the sky breaking, from which it takes its name - and it rules vast stretches of waste from lairs buried beneath the dunes, erupting beneath caravans and rivals alike. Vain and methodical, Kharzulan treats its desert as a board and the creatures crossing it as pieces, herding the lost with bursts of lightning for what seems a cruel sport. The nomads navigate by the glassed scars its breath has burned into the sand, and they offer the empty desert a wary respect that is, in truth, meant for him.
