Bandit

The Bandit is the most ordinary danger on any road in the Reach: a desperate man or woman with a blade and little to lose, waylaying travellers where the trees crowd close or the road runs lonely. One bandit is a coward who will run from a drawn sword. A band of them, well placed and confident in their numbers, is how a great many hopeful young adventurers meet their unremarkable ends. They are not monsters, which is its own kind of grim - they are people the hard times made.
