The Kobold Scout is the warren's early warning: a quick, quiet, nervous creature that slips through the tunnels ahead of intruders and races back to raise the alarm and spring the warren's defenses. It avoids a fight by every means available, and its whole value is in not being caught - for a Scout that reaches the warren turns a quiet infiltration into a prepared ambush. Rangers and Rogues earn their keep against kobolds largely by catching the Scout before it can squeak.
