The Diamond of the Crown

The Diamond of the Crown is one of the seven jewels of the Obsidian Crown, the lost regalia of the old kings, scattered when the Cataclysm shattered the world. None living know where the seven came to rest. The Diamond is the stone of swiftness and of endings: a bearer who carries it moves first and moves again, quicker than any unaided hand. But swiftness and endings are kin, and the Diamond's curse is the weight of them - a creeping age, a deep fatigue that settles into the bones of a bearer who cannot bear what the jewel asks of them.
