Cloaker

The Cloaker is a flat, leathery predator of the deep dark that hangs against ceiling and wall disguised as a discarded cloak, a hanging banner, or a simple patch of deeper shadow, indistinguishable from the gloom until it drops. It wraps itself around its prey, smothering and constricting, and the deep folds of its body muffle all sound, so that a victim taken by one cannot even cry out for aid. They haunt the lightless lower halls of old ruins, and the sight of an out-of-place cloak draped over a chair in such a place has saved the lives of those wise enough to be suspicious of small comforts.
