The Drawing

The Drawing is the pull of the Dark Sun - the slow, ceaseless tug the black sun exerts on all things, drawing them by degrees toward nothing. It is not a storm or a war but a tide, and like a tide it rises and falls. It has risen before. The Builders made the Hold to resist it, and for an age the Hold held; but the Hold is failing now, and the Drawing is rising again. Most people never feel it directly and would not believe it if told. The scholars feel it. The Unmakers welcome it.
