The Lorekeeper's Tome

The Forest Wraith haunts the corrupted deeps of woods like the Silverwood, where something has gone wrong with the living green - a blight, a dark working, a wound in the land that did not heal. It is a death-spirit clothed in green shadow and the cold of a sunless wood, and it seems less a risen person than the grief of the poisoned forest itself given shape and malice. It drifts between the dead trees, draining the warmth from any living thing that strays too deep, and where it is found the wood around it is always sick - the Wraith and the corruption two faces of the same wrong.
