Ghoul
Creature
The Ghoul is a thing of the rare cursed places - old battlefields where too many died unmourned, plague-pits, crypts where a dark working has festered. It was a person once; now it is a gaunt, ravenous corpse-eater, quick where the common risen dead are slow, driven by an endless hunger that the dead flesh of its haunt no longer satisfies. A Ghoul hunts the living to fill that hunger, and its touch carries a paralyzing chill that leaves its prey frozen and helpless while it feeds. They are mercifully uncommon. Where they are found, the ground itself is usually to blame.
