Ice Wraith

The Ice Wraith is the death-spirit of the high cold, drifting the night-bound heights of the Frostspire where the freezing dark has claimed too many lost travellers. It is near-invisible against the snow and the night, a shimmer of killing frost in the shape of a robed figure, and it hunts by darkness - the long Frostspire nights are its hunting-ground, and a party caught in the open after dusk is its natural prey. Its touch does not merely chill but freezes, stopping the blood in the wound, and the frozen dead it leaves behind are sometimes said to rise and drift the heights as it does.
