Everyone knows the Giant Rat: a rat grown to the size of a small dog, red-eyed and bold, infesting cellars, sewers, ruins, and any dark place with scraps to steal. One is a nuisance. A nest of them, swarming up out of the dark together, has stripped more than one careless traveller to the bone. They are the first thing many an adventurer ever kills, and the Reach is not the poorer for their dying.
