The Troll is among the most dreaded brutes in the Reach, and for one reason above all: it does not stay hurt. A troll's flesh knits shut as fast as a blade can open it; sever a limb and it crawls to rejoin the stump, or the troll simply grows another. A party can hack a troll to the ground a dozen times and watch it rise a dozen times, hungrier each time. Only fire defeats it - flame sears the wounds shut for good, and a troll burned is a troll that finally stays down. Every wise delver in troll country carries a torch and the will to use it.
