The Lorekeeper's Tome

Dwarves

Person
The Dwarves are the deep-folk, hewers of the Iron Hills, and they remember the Builders better than any people now living - for they built in stone as the Builders did, and stone keeps its memory. They are stubborn past reason and strong past their size, armored in muscle before ever they don mail. Magic finds them poor soil; a working that would fell another glances off a Dwarf, and poison troubles them little. The price of that solidity is a certain slowness of hand and foot - they make poor thieves and poorer dancers. But set a Dwarf in heavy armor in a doorway, and the doorway is held.
