The Cave Troll is the troll of the deep places: a massive, stone-grey horror that has lived so long in the lightless dark that it has near enough gone blind, hunting instead by sound and smell through the caverns below the Iron Hills. It is larger and stronger than its surface kin and shares their dreadful regeneration, and in the close dark of its own tunnels - where a party can scarcely swing a blade, let alone wield fire freely - it is a nightmare to put down. The deep-folk seal off Cave Troll tunnels rather than fight through them.
