Hill Giant

The Hill Giant is the smallest and crudest of the true giants, which still leaves it three times the height of a man and strong enough to fling a boulder hard enough to stave in a wall. It roams the uplands and broken hill country, dim and greedy and territorial, hurling rocks at anything that comes within range before it deigns to close. It is the giant a party is most likely to meet, and while it is no match in wit for even an ogre, the boulders it throws do not require wit - only a hill, and a target, and an afternoon.
