The Ogre is the simplest kind of terror: a hulking brute twice the height of a man and many times its weight, strong enough to break a door from its frame or a man from his life with a single swing of a tree-trunk club. It is slow and dim, and a clever party can run rings around one - but a single blow that lands is often a single blow too many. Ogres haunt the hill country and the edges of the wild, where they live alone or in small, squabbling families, eating whatever they can catch, which is a category that regrettably includes travellers.
