The Stone Troll wears a hide like rough granite, so tough that blades skip and chip against it, and it shares the common troll's knitting flesh beneath that armor besides. It is slower than its kin and duller, but nearly impossible to wound and just as hard to keep down, a grinding war of attrition in monstrous form. The old tales hold that a Stone Troll caught above ground by the rising sun turns wholly to stone, which is why they keep to the deep shade and the night - and why a clever party in troll country watches the eastern sky.
