Gnoll
Creature
The Gnoll is a savage thing of the dry country and the broken margins: a tall, hyena-headed raider that runs in cackling packs, driven by a hunger that never seems to fill. They are stronger than goblins and far more ferocious, taking slaves and meat alike from the villages they raid, and their laughing call across the scrubland empties the fields and bars the doors for miles. What they are and where they came from no scholar of the Reach has settled; they simply appear out of the dry waste when the lean years come, and vanish back into it when they have taken their fill.
