The Pirate is the bandit gone to sea: a brigand who has traded the lonely road for the open water, preying on merchant hulls and coastal villages from the Western Coast to the Island Seas. They are sailors first and fighters second, but the second comes readily enough when there is plunder in it. A pirate crew that takes a ship rarely leaves witnesses, and the harbours of the Reach are papered with bounties on the worst of them.
