The Lorekeeper's Tome

The Corrupted Treant is a tragedy in the shape of a monster: a treant whose ancient heartwood has been twisted by blight, poison, or a dark working into something diseased and hateful, the forest's gentle guardian turned wholly against the life it once kept. Its bark weeps rot, its limbs are hung with sickly growths, and the slow wisdom of its kind has curdled into a mindless, lashing malice that attacks everything living - including the very wood it was born to protect. Where one is found, the forest around it is always sick, and the Corrupted Treant is both a symptom of that sickness and, often, its raging heart.
