The Arkenfall
Event
The Arkenfall is the catastrophe that ended the elder world: the fall of the Builders, some three thousand years gone. In it the Gulf was ripped into the heart of the Reach, and the flood it loosed drowned the eighth kingdom, leaving only its volcano standing as a ruined island at the storm-hidden centre. The Builders' great working, the Hold, was broken in the same hour and has been failing ever since. Everything wrong with the present age traces back to that fracture, and most of the Reach's people do not know there was ever anything to fall from. The game takes its name from this event.
