The Seraphine

The Seraphine are the radiant heralds of the Living Sun, beings of light that the Cathedral of the Radiant Flame names angels and venerates as messengers of the warm sun's will. They appear seldom and are spoken of often, figures of mercy and terrible brightness in the Cathedral's teaching. What they truly are is a question the Cathedral does not invite. The scholars of Velmoryn, who invite every question, are divided: some hold the Seraphine to be exactly what the faithful believe, and others suspect them to be a working of the Builders - made things, not divine ones, serving a purpose set down long ago. The Tome records both views and settles neither.
