The Specter is a Ghost curdled into pure malice: a spirit that has forgotten whatever grief once bound it and remembers only hatred for the living and the warmth they carry. It flies, it passes through stone and steel as though they were mist, and its touch withers the life from a body and the will from a soul. Where a Ghost may sometimes be reasoned with or laid to rest, a Specter wants only to spread its own cold death, and it cannot be bargained with because there is nothing left in it to bargain with. They haunt the gravest of cursed places, and even the brave do not linger where one is known to drift.
